Plot summary

In post-apocalyptic America, women struggle to survive after being taken by a brutal army of men that holds them as slaves, and escape on their own is impossible. The year is 2021, and the army's soldiers outlived a nuclear holocaust. They are veterans of the Western War, and the army answers to Mikal, who is tired of fighting yet sees no alternative. The captives' only hope is the Sisterhood, a nomadic band of she-warriors led by Alee. Every member of the band carries a unique paranormal power, and the Sisterhood fights with those abilities rather than mechanical weapons. The band has fared worse in earlier clashes against the men's forces.
