The Rosary Murders (1987) on Netflix

Plot summary

In a Roman Catholic parish in Detroit, priests and nuns are being killed, and a rosary is found with each body. Father Robert Koesler, who serves at the parish, begins working the case with the police, while Pat Lennon, a reporter for the local newspaper, covers the killings. Then a man comes to Koesler's confessional and says he is the killer. He holds the church responsible for the death of his teenage daughter three years before and promises that more murders will follow. The seal of confession forbids Koesler from repeating what he has heard to anyone, the authorities included.
