Plot summary

Movie star Ryan Banks is struggling, so his agent and best friend, Todd Doherty, comes up with a reality dating show for him called I Want to Marry Ryan Banks, hoping to save his career. The show runs much like The Bachelor, putting fifteen women in competition for Banks. Charlie Norton ends up on the show after her sister and brother-in-law send in an audition tape on her behalf, and she is chosen along with the others to help boost Banks's image. Banks contacts her at her sister's bar in Boston, and she decides to take part. In the house she befriends her roommate Lauren, an aspiring actress who has joined the show for the exposure, and Charlie also gets a look at how reality television is assembled, through repeated takes and editing.
