Plot summary
Bruno Felkin, a crime boss in San Francisco, kills a rival in the mob. He asks his girlfriend, Connie Thatcher, to provide an alibi, but she cannot be found. Felkin himself reports the crime to Lt. Kelsey, an alibi scheme that fails. He stows away aboard Hamil Linder's fishing boat, and the skipper receives him kindly and teaches him fishing. Felkin tries to enlist Linder's son Carl to work for him. Kelsey continues to pursue Felkin.
