Plot summary
Belgian rider Dom Chabol has spent twenty years as a domestique on the Tour de France, one of the best at setting the pace and blocking the wind so his team's sprinter can win. He secretly wants to wear the yellow jersey once. Summer 1998 brings the opening stages to Ireland, and at what is likely his last Tour he is dropped from the team. His best mate Sonny, the team masseur, cannot reassure him. A chance meeting with Lynn, a young Irish doctor, eases the blow, and Dom starts to accept civilian life. Then a doping error removes another teammate from the race, and Dom is back in the saddle.
