Plot summary
A group of Sherpas in the Himalayas kills a gigantic humanoid creature. Dr. Claire Collier, a university scientist, is convinced the creature is the legendary Yeti. She assembles an expedition that includes her former student Matthew Connor and the hunter Rondo Montana. They go to Nepal to trace the creature's origins. In the Sherpa village, they join forces with a rugged tracker. The expedition then sets out to look for more specimens.

- Stop-motion animator David Allen died at 54 in 1999 with the film unfinished; his colleague Chris Endicott kept the elements, storyboards and puppets, and in 2018 Charles Band launched an Indiegogo campaign that raised over $40,000 to complete it.
- The Primevals began as Raiders of the Stone Ring, a late-1960s project by stop-motion animators David Allen, Dennis Muren and Jim Danforth. A promo reel brought it to Hammer Films, but talks stalled when the studio turned it into an unrealized treatment called Zeppelin vs. Pterodactyl.
