Plot summary
Mindy meets Fred at a party given by a mutual friend and brings him back to her apartment in New York City. Fred, who has a girlfriend, tries to leave early, but the two spend the night together. In the morning he learns that Mindy is not on the pill and panics. Mindy, who is Catholic, agrees without enthusiasm to take the morning-after pill. At the pharmacy she takes the first one, and Fred hears that a second pill is needed twelve hours later. Fred first claims he is too busy even for breakfast, then catches up with Mindy and stays with her so that she takes the second dose.
