The Ninth (2019) on Netflix

Plot summary

At the close of the 19th century, the Russian capital is swept up in a fashion for the occult and the supernatural. Olivia Reed, a British medium on tour, holds public sessions that draw large audiences. Around the same time, girls are being taken from the streets of Petersburg, and their bodies, mutilated, are discovered in separate parts of the city. A young police officer, Rostov, works the case with his assistant, Ganin, and each new victim leaves the picture less clear rather than more. Suspicion falls on Olivia, and Rostov approaches her, hoping that her ability to call up the dead, whether real or imagined, will help him find the person responsible.
