Plot summary
Gary plays a cop on a television show. After burning his ex-girlfriend's belongings with too much lighter fluid, he drinks and drives, takes crack, and wrecks his car. He sobers up in jail, then officials place him under house arrest. Margaret, a publicist, keeps watch over him and installs him in the vacant home of a writer who is shooting in Canada. Gary meets Sarah, the neighbor. He finds notes he has no memory of writing, hears noises, and believes he glimpses himself in the kitchen. Two further stories follow a television show runner and a videogame designer whose lives overlap with his.
