Plot summary
Married and on unemployment, Fritz the Cat shares an apartment with his ill-tempered wife and their infant son, Ralphie, and listens as she scolds him for his irresponsibility. Fritz has graduated from college, and he is a fraudulent womanizer and a leftist. He smokes cannabis and drifts into fantasies of his eight other lives, hoping one will provide a distraction. The imagined lives arrive as loosely connected stories. In the first, he meets his friend Juan the camel, and Juan's sister Chita complains about the smell of the cannabis before trying it herself. In another, he encounters a drunken bum who claims to be God.
