Bob Holt

Born in St. Louis in 1928, Bob Holt was an American actor known for voice work. His first film role came in 1950, as Octavius Caesar in Julius Caesar, and his voice career began with the 1968 short Johnny Learns His Manners, for which he supplied all the voices. He appeared in Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971) and voiced Homer Zuckerman in the animated Charlotte's Web (1973). He also worked on animated Dr. Seuss television specials, among them The Lorax (1972) and The Grinch Grinches the Cat in the Hat (1982). Other credits included the adult animated sequel The Nine Lives of Fritz the Cat (1974), voicing Grape Ape for The New Tom & Jerry Show in 1975, and Avatar in Ralph Bakshi's Wizards (1977). In 1982 he played the title part in Marvel Productions' animated The Incredible Hulk and created a library of stock roars used for years afterward. He died in 1985.
