Plot summary
Sol is seventeen when she and her mother move into the home of Gonzalo, her mother's boyfriend. The town offers her no welcome, and at school her classmates bully her while Gonzalo harasses her in the house. She takes to the streets, looking for a way out of a place that has shown her only hostility. There she meets a mysterious magical female dog, and the two form a symbiotic relationship. The dog appears whenever Sol is threatened, defending her violently and without warning.
