Plot summary
In New York City, Alli and Jacob share an apartment with their three young children. The care of the kids leaves Alli stressed and busy, and the strain has worn at her relationship with Jacob. Through their window they can see into the home of a younger couple across the street, two free spirits with none of the duties that weigh on Alli and Jacob. They keep their watching secret, and bitterness runs through it, a longing for the youth they have lost and the responsibilities they have taken on.
