Plot summary

In early twentieth century China, Ching Fong Tin returns to Han Shui, the town he came from, and buys up its businesses. A former outlaw, he intends to restore the town's fortunes by forcing a Shanghai express to stop there, then letting its passengers spend their money locally. The train's maiden run carries government officials, merchants and their wives, along with three Japanese travelers who hold a map to the Terracotta Army. A bandit gang plots to take that map, while the criminals of Jook Bo plan to board the train for their own ends. In Han Shui, fire chief Tsao Cheuk Kin, newly named head of security, keeps order, and Ching recruits women including Chi and Siu Hon to ready a hotel for paying guests.
