Plot summary

After finishing college in Boston, Heather Mulgrew is touring Europe with her friends Amy and Connie before starting work at a bank in New York. On an overnight train to Barcelona, she meets Jack, a New Zealander carrying the journal of his great-grandfather, who served in Europe after World War II. They are both reading Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises and begin to discuss it. In Barcelona, Jack brings his friend Raef, and Connie becomes interested in him. Heather and Jack slip into a tower at the harbor cable car and share a kiss.
