Plot summary
Sinbad the sailor comes home to Kovasahn with no gold. The people go hungry while the merchants live well, and he asks them to pay for a voyage to find the Bird of Happiness, which he says can cure the city's troubles. They laugh at him and send him away. Lubiria also catches his attention, though she tells him they have only just met. The daughter of King Neptune, who heard him singing by the water, learns of his trouble and proposes turning the sea's fish to gold. Sinbad wakes the city with a wager: catch the golden fish and the merchants give up their wealth; lose, and they take his head.

- The 1962 American version of Sadko anglicized its cast and credits, passed itself off as a sequel to Ray Harryhausen's 1958 hit The 7th Voyage of Sinbad with narration citing the Cyclops and the giant two-headed Roc, and had a young Francis Ford Coppola as its uncredited script adaptor.
