Plot summary
Massachusetts, 1912. Seth has disavowed any association with women, and he keeps a lighthouse on Cape Cod. The light has a second attendant, and the two of them are one old and one young; both have sworn off women. Two women come to the cape for their summer vacation and move into a cottage near the light. The source is Joseph C. Lincoln's 1911 novel, The Woman Haters: A Yarn of Eastboro Twin-Lights.
