The Legend of Marilyn Monroe (1965) on Netflix

Plot summary

Marilyn Monroe, the actress who became a 1950s sex symbol, is the subject here. Her life and screen career unfold through clips from her films. Some of the material reaches back to her earliest movies: scenes that were cut at the time and went unseen for many years. Alongside the clips, people who knew her and people who worked with her are interviewed, and other performers appear in archive footage. The narration comes from a filmmaker who had earlier worked with her. The documentary was made in the United States, and the picture was also released in Britain under the title The Marilyn Monroe Story.
