Plot summary
Paul Racine, a New York tech executive, is on a business trip to Nagoya. He meets Kirina at his hotel and they spend a night together. After they part, Kinjo and two of his men approach her; Kinjo leads the Makato, a ninja cult hired to kill her. Racine returns for his room key and tries to defend her, and the attackers leave him for dead. He wakes in a hospital, where Lieutenant Wadakura dismisses his account of ninjas. Ijuro Takeda, an expert on the cult, warns that he is in danger because he saw Kinjo's face.
