Plot summary
Millie Calloway is on parole and must hold a lawful job, so she becomes the live-in maid for Nina Winchester, her wealthy husband Andrew and their daughter Cece at a mansion in Great Neck, Long Island. Nina says she needs help around the house. One morning Nina claims Millie threw out her meeting notes, and Andrew steps in, saying Nina has time to rework them. Another night Nina catches Andrew and Millie watching a game show together and threatens to fire Millie, telling her to keep away from him. Troubled by Nina's violent outbursts and shifting moods, Millie looks for other employment, but her parole requires her to keep a job.
