Plot summary
Nate Cooper has never had luck with women, and the girl he cannot forget is Cristabel Abbott, whom he loved in elementary school. He travels to the California beaches and looks up his geeky best friend Arno, whose mother, Mrs. Blount, knows a surprising amount about Cristabel. Cristabel jogs along the beach every day with many suitors hoping to catch her eye, an albino stalker among them, yet she stays single. Her closest friend is still June Phigg, the short, unattractive brunette Nate knew as a child. Nate makes himself known to Cristabel again and the two get along, but she will not go on a date unless June has one too. Every man recoils from June, so Nate sets out to find her a boyfriend.
