Plot summary
Abby Sutton works as a photographer but is stuck in a job that is going nowhere. Her grandfather gives her an antique Advent calendar, and she takes it home without being impressed by it. On December 1, the calendar reveals a pair of boots, and her friend Josh Barton, who has been away photographing around the world, gives her a pair of boots bought in Italy. On December 2, the calendar shows a Christmas tree, and a tree tumbles off a car roof into her path. The driver is Ty Walker, a doctor. Abby begins to connect what the calendar holds each day with what happens around her.
