Plot summary
Paul Brenner, a chief warrant officer with the Army's criminal investigation branch, works undercover at Fort MacCallum in Georgia, posing as First Sergeant Frank White while working an illegal arms deal. When his car gets a flat tire, Captain Elisabeth Campbell stops to help him change it. The next evening she is found dead. Brenner and Sara Sunhill, a rape specialist, are sent to handle the case. The provost marshal, Colonel William Kent, secures the scene. Elisabeth served in psychological operations, and her father, Lieutenant General Joseph Campbell, commands the base. Denied permission to search her house, the two investigators break in and find a room holding video and BDSM equipment, and an intruder attacks them.
