Plot summary
Trans-Coast Airways Flight 60 leaves Los Angeles bound for Washington, D.C. Three passengers aboard, Tom Endicott, Dr. Carl Morris and Marcia Paxton, have been summoned to a classified Pentagon meeting about a planned weapon and the rocket meant to carry it. Another passenger, Walter Cooper, argues that the secret bomb must be used. Mid-flight the Douglas DC-6 begins to climb higher than ten miles, while Operations Manager George Manson tries to keep radio contact with the flight from airline headquarters.
