Biography

Meg Wyllie was an American actress whose career centered on television. She was born in Honolulu and spent her childhood in the Philippines before moving to New York City in the 1940s. Early stage work included performances with the Pasadena Playhouse in All the Comforts of Home (1941), Two on an Island (1940), and Visit to a Small Planet (1958). She also took part in the first production of The Glass Menagerie and appeared on Broadway in The First Gentleman. On television, she was a guest on many popular series of the late 1950s and 1960s. Her recurring role as Mrs. Kissel in The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters ran from 1963 to 1964. She played the Talosian Keeper in the Star Trek pilot The Cage (1964), later reused in The Menagerie (1966), and appeared in Batman in 1967. Other credits included Perry Mason, The Twilight Zone, Wagon Train, General Hospital, The Golden Girls, and Designing Women. She died in 2002.
