Plot summary

Steve and Eileen Stevens want one last summer with all three children before Donnie leaves for college, though Louis would rather spend the vacation lounging. Ren is coming off a breakup with her boyfriend Gil, and she takes a babysitting job looking after Bernard "Beans" Aranguren, who moves in while his parents are in Helsinki. A man who says he works for the state department tells the family they have won an all-expenses-paid trip to Mandelino, a South Pacific island, as goodwill ambassadors. Everyone except Louis is excited. There the locals turn cold after Louis damages their sacred palace, and with a week to wait before they can fly home, the family starts to squabble. They do not know that Miles, the man who brought them there, is filming a hidden camera reality show.
