Plot summary
By 1830 Niccolò Paganini, acclaimed across Europe, is at the peak of his career, and his manager Urbani feeds the stories of affairs and scandals that surround his name. One audience has still to be won: London. The impresario John Watson, with his mistress Elisabeth Wells, risks all he owns to bring Paganini over, and Urbani gets him there against his will. The journalist Ethel Langham's reviews make the visit a sensation, and crowds gather outside his hotel. Paganini and Urbani take refuge in Watson's house, where the violinist is drawn to Watson's daughter Charlotte, a singer. She and Paganini find each other through music, and Urbani, who fears losing his influence over his client, is displeased.
