Plot summary
Alexandra Delgado's figure skating career ends when her partner, also her boyfriend, is injured, and with the romance over she gives up competing and turns to coaching. James McKinsey, a speed skater barred from his sport, has wanted Alex as a skating partner for a long time. She refuses him, and he is not used to hearing no. He keeps pushing her, and the challenge revives her competitive appetite. She signs on as his partner, and the two throw themselves into a hard training schedule. Their tempers and growing closeness threaten to derail the work as she works toward competing again.
