Plot summary
Danny hides his cocaine inside his girlfriend Elizabeth's skis and lets her carry the skis through airport security. Officers find the drugs, and Elizabeth, who never suspected what she was carrying, is arrested and charged with smuggling. A quick trial convicts her of the offense, and she is sentenced to three years at the Correctional Institution for Women in California. Inside, she finds the warden, Fletcher, cruel and unsympathetic, and the inmates vicious. Elizabeth learns quickly that she must struggle to survive her time there, and that she has to toughen up if she hopes to leave the place in one piece.
