The Comics (1990) on Netflix

Plot summary

Paolo and Renato are railroad workers in a silent black and white film. They leave the screen behind and land in a movie theater, then in the everyday world, where the two of them have to find a way to get by. Their attempts cause trouble for the people around them. The comedy is told as a series of separate episodes, with gags borrowed from the silent era, from Laurel and Hardy to Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. As bungling painters, the pair ruin the wedding of Mario and Domitilla. At a gas station they destroy the pumps. Hired to work in a mountain chalet, they spoil the holiday for the guests staying there.
