Plot summary

The elderly Heelshires hire Greta Evans, an American who is traveling in the United Kingdom, as a nanny. Their charge is a doll named Brahms, whom they treat as their real son. They coach her on the rules for caring for Brahms and their house before they leave on holiday. Malcolm, who brings the household's groceries, visits often. Greta ignores the rules. She calls her sister, who says Greta's abusive ex-boyfriend Cole keeps trying to find her.
