Plot summary
Françoise Pigaut, a young French woman, is in a public park on a rainy day when a man attacks her, gags her and stabs her with a switchblade. She falls down a hill, and a child in a raincoat comes upon her. Television sports host Alessandro Marchi is seen running from the spot and is arrested. Sarah Marchi, his daughter, is a friend of Françoise, and Giorgio, a young pianist, is a friend of both who is fond of her. The prosecution says Françoise had threatened to report Marchi, who was suspected of groping her, and that he silenced her; Giulio Cordaro defends him as his attorney.
