Plot summary
As a girl in Florence, Virginia saw her mother die in Dover in a vision. Eighteen years on, she is married to Francesco Ducci, a wealthy businessman. After her husband leaves on a business trip, a new vision shows a limping man killing an elderly woman and sealing her body in a wall. Renovating the abandoned villa outside Siena uncovers a skeleton, and a forensic examination identifies it as Agnese Bignardi, Francesco's former girlfriend. He is charged with the killing. Virginia turns to her friend Luca Fattori, a parapsychologist, to clear his name. She remembers a yellow taxi and a bearded man who walks with a limp, and she and Luca begin to follow those threads.
