Trailer

Plot summary

In a near future of environmental collapse and scarce resources, parenthood is regulated: the drugs that lengthen life also prevent natural conception, so children arrive only through artificial wombs, and only to couples who pass a state assessment. Mia, a botanist, cultivates plant life, and her husband Aaryan designs virtual reality pets, since real animals are gone. Their home is a secluded, technologically advanced house under a protective dome, and they want a child. Virginia, the government-appointed assessor, moves in with them for seven days, putting them through unconventional tests and judging whether they are fit to raise a child. Failing means they will never be parents.
