Plot summary
Mia is seventeen, and the anniversary of the death of her mother, Rhea, has come around again while her father Max keeps his distance. She, her best friend Jade and Jade's younger brother Riley slip out to a party hosted by Hayley and Joss, where the draw is a severed, embalmed hand and a lit candle. Whoever grips the hand and says "Talk to me" summons a dead stranger; saying "I let you in" lets that spirit take the body. Another person has to pull the hand free and blow out the candle within ninety seconds, or the spirit stays bound. Mia takes the first turn, and the visitor that comes through fixes its attention on Riley.
