Plot summary
James Singer is a shy college freshman and a gifted programmer who shares a dorm room with Lance Black, a wealthy classmate interested in casual encounters and nothing else. When Lance and his friends decide to launch a hookup app, Lance learns that James has been coding since childhood and offers to pay for a transfer to an Ivy League school if James writes it. James works day and night on Jungle, which pairs people on campus for one-night stands without names or numbers exchanged, and he has Lance take the credit. At Christmas, his father Phil turns up with a much younger date he met through the app, and his mother Leah is talked into trying it by her friends.
