Plot summary
Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz studies at Stanford University Medical School, earns his M.D. and works out a philosophy of holistic health and diet. With his wife Juliette he raises eight boys and one girl in a small camper parked on the beach, home-schooling all nine of them and holding them to strict rules about food and daily living. Their diet is based on what animals in the wild eat, and the family surfs together. Dorian also founds a school of surfing. He is 85, a surfer, a health advocate and a sex guru, and Juliette and the nine children are the rest of the eleven-member family.
