Plot summary

Toxic goo used in oil drilling leaks into the ocean, and a shark exposed to it grows enormous, becomes bulletproof and gains the ability to move about on land. It destroys the rig that released the substance, then makes for Los Angeles, where several divers are eaten and a bikini contest at the beach is under way. Marine biologist Kat Carmichael hires skipper Chuck to carry her out to the Traymore Industries rig, where she collects a water sample. The company's front man, Roger Wade, and his associate Stewart try to block her inquiry. Carmichael also brings in disc jockey Dynamite Stevens, who joins her effort to stop the shark.
