Plot summary
Cliff, a young gay man in suburban Ontario, lives with his mother Madge, who owns a chocolate delivery company, and his sister Cookie. On his eighteenth birthday, Cookie pushes him to head into Toronto, celebrate and lose his virginity. In the city he finds a gay neighborhood and meets Butch, a hustler in his twenties, and is immediately taken with him. Butch turns down his suggestion of coffee and leaves, so Cliff trails him to an alley where street kids and punks gather. Cliff wins them over and spends the evening with them at a club called Paradise. He goes home with Butch, and the two grow close, though Butch stays wary of investing too much. Cliff brings Butch to meet Madge and Cookie.
