Plot summary
Two friends, Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia, hosted a hip hop show on WKCR, the Columbia University radio station, and listeners followed it closely. Rappers who appeared on the program went on to build lasting careers, with East Coast artists especially prominent among them. In 1998, The Source Magazine called it the best hip hop show ever broadcast on radio. The documentary looks at the influence the program had on its audience and on hip hop itself, and at the friendship behind it, which made the two hosts unlikely legends of the genre.
