Plot summary
Edgar Dinero is a drug dealer in a Puerto Rican barrio, deep in the street life around him. By day he is in the recording studio, aiming to become a reggaeton singer; by night he is on the streets, holding his turf against the city's violent criminals. Soribel comes from uptown, and Edgar falls in love with her. He does what he can to hide his ties to the barrio's underworld from her. A career as a reggaeton singer is offered to him, and a first session in a New York City studio does not go well. Soribel's influence makes him think about leaving crime behind, which would mean convincing others he has changed.
