Plot summary
Marsha Mitchell, a fashion model from New York, stops in the small Southern town of Rock Point to visit her sister Lucy Rice. While walking along the main street, she witnesses a Ku Klux Klan mob break a man out of jail and shoot him as he tries to flee. She sees two of the hooded men unmask. Lucy tells her the victim was Walter Adams, a journalist investigating the local Klan, and takes Marsha to her home.
