Plot summary
The collection gathers six stories. Gianni, nineteen, drives through Los Angeles at night hunting a late-model luxury car whose driver breaks a traffic law, to crash into it and claim the insurance. Mark wants payback for a childhood incident with dodgeballs. A kid steals cash from a bar and wakes a man's supernatural spirit. A car accident pairs a man down on his luck with a movie star. Claire goes to work after a suicide attempt and meets Simon on a cigarette break. Maximina, after a bad breakup, is dragged out by her friends.
