Plot summary
Srimulat performs at the Teater Sriwedari in Surakarta, with Teguh as its leader and Asmuni, Timbul, Tessy, Paul, Basuki, Nunung and Djudjuk in the group. A drummer named Gepeng arrives whose act is funnier than theirs. A telegram from the capital then invites Srimulat to appear on national television. Teguh accepts and asks Gepeng to join, and Asmuni is assigned to lead the troupe to Jakarta. In a rented house there, the members try to fold Gepeng into their family. Gepeng and Basuki meet Royani, the daughter of the landlord, Babe Makmur, and her presence disturbs Gepeng's focus.
