Plot summary
Emma was raised by her grandmother after growing up an orphan, and she has worked for everything she has. What she has always wanted is a lasting marriage, though her relationships have not held. Then she begins a romance with Ted, a man of means she had watched from a distance growing up, and accepts his proposal, stepping into a far more luxurious world. That world includes Ted's twin brother Frank, whose interest in her goes past family affection. Ted used his inheritance to build a global technology company, while Frank took a different path, traveling the country and piling up arrests and brief relationships. Frank is now back in town, living in the family's old home, and his envy of his brother's life, Emma included, is no longer buried.
