Plot summary
In 1981 a man named Daniel Grayham, who has paranoid schizophrenia, kills a doctor at a mental asylum and gets out in the dead man's uniform. Three years after that, at St. Trinian's College, a sociology teacher is killed while alone in a classroom. Father Janson, the college's handicapped priest headmaster, hires Julie Parker to teach in her place the following semester. Julie becomes friendly with two other teachers, Cynthia and Mark, and starts dating Mark.

- Splatter University's filmmakers were told they had two weeks to shoot at Mercy College, but the school cut that to one week, so many crew members slept in classrooms to finish the film. When students returned, they were alarmed to find the crew cleaning up fake blood.
- The original version of Splatter University was shot in 1981 and ran only about 65 minutes; 13 minutes of additional scenes with students were filmed the following year to push the running time up.
