Plot summary
A documentary portrait of Sophia Loren, in her work and away from it. It moves through her years in cinema, her fame in Italy and abroad, her private life, her successes and the hard times she met. Two questions run through it: how a star is born and how a screen archetype is built. The answers begin in Naples, in her childhood during the war, and in the family around her, first of all her mother Romilda. From her first work at Cinecittà it goes on to her years in Hollywood, to her successes there and to her bond with Carlo Ponti.
