Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Carla was shot in Rome, Orvieto and Milan and became the first fiction production ever allowed to film inside the Teatro alla Scala. The ballet world story of the Italian dancer Carla Fracci was thus partly filmed in the Milan opera house itself.
- The dance sequences were not performed by the actors: professional dancers doubled for them, with Susanna Salvi dancing for Alessandra Mastronardi as Carla Fracci, Giacomo Castellana for Léo Dussolier as Rudolf Nureyev, and Silvia Fanfani for Paola Calliari as Ginevra Andegari.
