Something in the Water (2024) on Netflix

Plot summary

Meg and Kayla are a couple until a night out ends in violence: strangers shout homophobic slurs, and Meg is left in critical condition. A year on, Meg flies out for the wedding of her friend Lizzie to Dominic, Cam's brother. Kayla, absent since that night, is among the guests, and the others hope the trip will repair the rift between them. On the eve of the ceremony Cam charters a boat to a secluded island and leaves Meg and Kayla on a beach to talk. While the group swims, a shark bites Ruth's leg. The old hire boat hits reefs, springs a leak and goes down, so all five are stranded miles from land with a large shark circling.
