Some Freaks (2016) on Netflix

Plot summary

Jill, Matt and Elmo are three oddball friends at Benjamin Franklin High School in Rhode Island. Jill is punk and weighs 250 pounds, Matt comes from a poor family and has only one eye, and Elmo, who is short and gay, is still in the closet. When Matt and Jill begin dating, Elmo feels more isolated than before. After graduation Jill moves to California and, over six months, loses 50 pounds without telling anyone. Matt washes dishes in a hometown restaurant and spends his wages on a prosthetic eye. Elmo nurses a crush on Justin, a basketball player from his old high school who now attends his college. When Matt visits Jill at her campus on the west coast, each of them is surprised by how the other has changed.
